Awards
This award recognizes a significant
contribution to the growth and development of the
association through service as a committee member,
chairperson, state officer, or coordinator of a major
PADE activity. Nominees must meet the following
criteria:
-
Member
of PADE for at least five consecutive years; and
-
Service as member of the board for at least one full
term; and
-
Active membership in a
board sponsored committee or coordinator of a
regional or annual conference; and/or
-
Effective service as an executive officer for at
least one full term.

program which exemplifies the best of current practice
in the field of developmental education.

This award
honors a former participant in a developmental program who is a
leader in her/his profession and/or has a record of
outstanding contribution of her/his community.
Nominees must meet the following criteria:
-
Have
been graduated or transferred from the institution
sponsoring the home developmental program.
-
Evidence of leadership in the profession, such as
elected office in professional organization,
outstanding performance awards, community
recognition for volunteer service, consistent
contribution to a service organization.

developmental education practitioner. This letter must
be from a developmental educator (director, counselor,
teacher, etc.) who can attest to the nominee's

This award recognizes the individual

This award
recognizes a developmental educator whose work reflects
commitment to the needs of developmental students that
exemplifies best practices in developmental education.
Nominees must meet the following criteria.

Must
be currently working in a developmental program or a
related service; and

Have
worked in developmental education or a related
service area for at least five years; and
-
Be
responsible for an innovation in the filed,
coordination of a program that has significant
impact on students, or leading advocacy efforts on
behalf of developmental students.

recognizes a college administrator and/or public servant
who has a track record of support for developmental
education. Nominees must meet the following

Hold an administrative or
public position which has influence over developmental
education.

Has provided consistent
support for developmental education in a tangible
significant manner, e.g. secure funding, sponsor
legislations, expand level of support, public advocacy
for developmental students outside own institution.

This award is designed to honor an
educator who has demonstrated a track record of
effective teaching with developmental education
students.
REQUIREMENTS:

Have a
minimum of three years of teaching developmental
education courses/students, and
-
Provide evidence of successful teaching, such as
student or peer classroom evaluations
(Note:
Although counseling/advising and professional tutoring
are also teaching endeavors in a broad sense, this award
is not designed to honor exemplary work in those
responsibilities. The "Outstanding Service to
Developmental Education Students" award is an
appropriate avenue for recognizing exemplary service in
these areas.)

PADE Professional Development Scholarship
This
$1,500 scholarship is intended to assist in defraying
expenses to the Kellogg Institute, Advanced Kellogg or
T.I.D.E. (Technology Institute for Developmental
Education).

who have not attended Kellogg, Advanced Kellogg
or T.I.D.E.
SECONDARY
CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION:

Active participation in PADE as
demonstrated by attendance at the state or regional
conference or a leadership role as member of the
PADE Board, committee member or chair of a state or
regional conference.

Presenter at the annual state or a
regional conference within the last five years.
